In our sch library, we can find a similar quote too. They put up inspirational quotes in the library now. Apparently, this quote is found in the book by Thomas Friedman, 'The Lexus and the Olive Tree'. The moment i read this in the library, i loved it. Woooh. But i still have my favourite 'inspirational' poem given by my beloved and bestest aunt many many years ago. It goes like this:
~One~
One song can spark a moment,
One Flower can wake the dream;
One tree can start a forest,
One bird can herald spring;
One smile begins a friendship,
One handclasp lift a soul;
One star can guide a ship,
One word can frame the goal;
One vote can change a nation,
One sunbeam lights the room;
One candle wipes out darkness,
One laugh can conquer gloom;
One step must start each journey,
One word must start each prayer;
One hope will raise our spirits,
One touch show you care;
One voice can speak with wisdom,
One heart can know what's true;
One life can make a difference,
You see, it's up to you.

Short Break and Stuffs that I Accomplished
the short break i intended to have turned out to be loong. played eudemons online the whole day on saturday. then sunday, monday and tuesday i spent reading books. weehee! got the feeling which i had long not felt while reading books. it was a nice change than reading notes. lols..
read Discworld 3: The Science of Discworld, Darwin's Watch by Terry Pratchett.
read Discworld 3: The Science of Discworld, Darwin's Watch by Terry Pratchett.
Whoo, he rocks man. I was shocked at first when i realised the book is composed of 80% Science theories. The physics of blackholes and the associated time travel, parallel universes topics were discussed with quite great detail. There was also mathematics, the different types of infinities, apgp, etc etc. omg, the maths part was the most horrible of all. at least i can somewhat digest what the physics were talking about. but maths..i shut off. the pges were tuning by itslef. i even dozed off many times while trying to read and understand at the same time.
Then there was the evolution issue, which was the main topic of the book and the story line. The contents were somewhat similar to what we learnt! so darn funny i thought i was reading school notes for a moment.
In Discworld which is the 'real' world, Roundworld(Earth) was acidentally created by a clumsy wizard, and the wizards of the Unseen University thus had to ensure the saftey of Roundworld and its inhabitants, which was just the size of a soccer ball, surrounded by protective spells. Then, Darwin accidentally wrote the wrong book; ie instead of writing The Origin of Species, he wrote The Theology of Species, which will lead to the destruction of the human race via an impending Ice Age. Lol lol lol. In between the science chapters (which can get pretty dull coz its science theories), the misadventures of the wizards were hilarious.
I recommend this book (in gact, all Terry's books) to all my friend who takes pleasure some in satirical humor in their lives.
after a lvls of coz, of coz.
Then i read CS Lewis Narnia books 2 and 3. Prince Caspian, and The Voyage of the Dawn Treader. The latter is the title of the next Narnia movie. Whooo i can't wait!! But since the movie for Prince Caspian already had great many changes to the original storyline in the book, i do not doubt that the next movie will have deviations too.
And the last book i read was non other than our dear friend Frankenstein by Mary Shelly. Chilling.
Nuff said.

Oh..god...
this is just like a replay of what happened during mid yr for gp essay..
doing on some weird question.
oh god...
ah...
dejavu.
i'm scared my points are not substantiated enough. i just checked the internet. i typed in ' what we seek in our quest of the unknown'. some awesome points appeared. i could have used it! ah god...garrrrh. why oh why do i always follow my 'taste' and mood in choosing an essay question whenever i take huge exams? why can't i resist that urge? why can't i realise that this is an EXAM not an assignment, where marks are not that important anyway.
ok. the only thing to do is to hope for the best, to pass. oh god please please let me pass. as for the gp compre, i hate the structured questions but surprisingly the summary (for the first time i completed summary happily!) and aq were alright.
oh, and i nearly froze to death in geo. hidaya had a great time laughing at me coz i was shivering. literally. checklist: bring my dear shiroi jacket tmr for math. oh ya, i'm quite dead for math. didn't do most of the revision packages. aw shucks, screw it. woarrrgh.
pffft.
tired. from all these cramming. lesson learnt: do not cram. as u go with the flow, learn along. and make sure it sticks in ur head.
and happy happy happy birthday my one and only sis! i love u lots and u know that don't u, u idiot. sheesh.
